ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The engineering programs are designed in order to educate students to be highly qualified diploma graduates in the field, with a rich diversity of skills and to prepare graduates to engage in life-long learning and to enhance their engineering practice, and to provide services to Bahrain society by achieving university standards.
Program vision:
Supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain’s economic growth and diversification through qualified engineering technical cadres, with high practical skills supported by a scientific theoretical background and helping them engage in the Gulf region’s labor market and outside.
Programs Mission:
Empowering students with applied skills and providing them with multidisciplinary technical engineering qualifications required in the labor market. To prepare graduates ready to contribute to the sustainability of industrial development fields with national skills.
Program Objectives:
- Supporting higher education and vocational training in newfound technical industrial fields, thus supporting the college’s role as a leading center for higher and applied education.
- Enhancing applied educational programs and linking it to the labor market’s needs in the field of professional engineering within the structure of moving towards localization of skills and manpower.
- Contributing to the creation of university graduates and qualified multidisciplinary technical cadres in the fields of engineering and industrial technology in the Kingdom.
- Providing students with applied skills and the ability to develop new ideas and find solutions in related fields and adopt innovations in their future fields of work.
- Preparing students for professional growth, lifelong learning and competing in the labor market via participating in professional development activities and pursuing industrial technological progress.
OUR FACULTY
The Engineering Department has 2 full-time faculty members. The faculty members are distributed as follows: 1 Assistant Professor and 1 Lecturer. All faculty members have obtained their academic degrees in their respective Engineering related fields, from reputable academic institutions in Japan and United States of America.
Both faculties are Fellows of the Higher Education Academy UK (FHEA) has significant number of Teaching experience in the University. In addition to their teaching duties, the faculty also conduct research at local, regional, international level, serves on a variety of University, College and Department level committees, community services as well as quality assurance and accreditation processes. They are also involved in many students’ extracurricular activities such as supervising technical projects as well as mentoring the students.
